My Story

I embarked on my journey as an artist from a young age, just like many others. My earliest memories consist of doodling on various surfaces including books, walls, tables, and sidewalks - my creative spirit knew no limits! The path to realizing my dreams of becoming an artist, author, and teacher has been a gradual one, marked by detours and setbacks. Despite facing challenges and moments of doubt, I have persevered, continuously learning and evolving with each experience. From starting formal art teaching in 2001 to obtaining a BA in Creative Arts from San Jose State University in 2005, my artistic endeavors have been shaped by a passion for mixed media art that I discovered in 2007. Through blogging about my journey as a mother and artist, attending art retreats like Artfest, and connecting with fellow creatives such as the Bay Area Art Sisters, I found a supportive community that embraced my quirky, artistic nature. Over the years, I have transitioned from teaching in private art groups to offering online classes, workshops at studios, retreats, and private events across the country.
