Now that we've had time to reflect on the process and allowed our piece to dry, we're ready to add some more subtle marks! For this layer, you'll need some water-soluble graphite pencils and the Stabilo Woody 3-in-1 marks-all pencils. This layer is all about "less is more" and adding subtle marks, patterns, and textures. Think of each layer as building a pyramid with most of the "action" happening at the bottom or first layer and then as we work our way to the top, we are making fewer and fewer "moves." Think of this layer as tying parts together or adding a few contrasting marks on top of emptier areas. Remember to swap pieces with your partner and turn them in different directions each time you swap. If you are working solo, just turn the pages in a different direction to get a new perspective each time you work on a new layer.
